Happy Christmas

It’s been busy times over here and lots of exciting things are afoot… Starting with the recently-formed band, Nasc, our debut gigs went down so well in Glasgow and Belfast that there is talk of an album happening in 2013. Keep an eye out for further details. www.facebook.com/NascBand

I was delighted to hear Fionnghuala -from my brand new album, Once Upon An Olive Branch- making an appearance on BBC Radio 2′s Mike Harding show last night, with some lovely words about me from the man himself, alongside a fantastic playlist. The show is available to listen again here: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01p9kd1

January is nearly here and I have 3 lovely gigs coming up as part of www.celticconnections.com… I am honoured to guest with amazing Fado singer Carminho on Friday 18th January at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. On Sunday 20th January the Maeve Mackinnon band shares the bill with the brilliant Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas at St. Andrews In The square. After which I take to the road with Infinite Scotland– the latest musical, multi-media collaboration between myself, David Allison, Tom Richardson, actress Blythe Duff and a host of other lovely people. We play Celtic Connections on Friday 1st February along with a string of dates including The Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh. Further gigs detailed in the tour section of this website- don’t miss it!

Also hot off the press is the St. Kilda Tapes CD/DVD, also featuring guitar supremo David Allison and the wonderful voice of Norman John Gillies. I’m really proud of it and it makes a great last-minute stocking filler so get buying! www.theislandtapes.com
Hope to see you on the road and have a very Happy Christmas!
